Lexington Flying Pigs Welcome Chris Elliott as Team Chaplain

Lexington, NC, April 23, 2025 – The Lexington Flying Pigs are excited to announce the addition of Chris Elliott as the organization’s official Team Chaplain for the 2025 season. In this role, Chris will offer spiritual guidance and support to players, coaches, and staff through prayer, encouragement, and optional Bible studies. His presence reflects the team’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture that values character, faith, and personal growth alongside athletic development.

As a trusted voice in the community, Chris brings with him years of experience in ministry and a deep passion for mentoring young people. His role will go beyond the baseball diamond—providing a safe space for players to discuss life, purpose, and faith, while also offering moments of reflection and unity through team prayer and study.

“My goal is to walk alongside these young men—not just as athletes, but as people,” said Elliott. “Baseball is a beautiful game, but it also comes with pressure, transition, and uncertainty. I want to be someone they can lean on in those moments, whether it’s through prayer, encouragement, or simply being present.”

Team owner Danny Kirkman emphasized the importance of creating a supportive, holistic environment for everyone within the Flying Pigs organization.

“We’re thrilled to officially welcome Chris to the Flying Pigs family,” Kirkman said. “Our mission goes far beyond wins and losses. We’re in the business of shaping young men into leaders, and Chris will be a key part of that. His heart for service, his faith, and his understanding of what these players are going through make him the perfect fit for our culture.”

The Flying Pigs, a proud member of the Old North State League, are known not only for their competitive spirit but also for their community-driven approach and dedication to player development. The addition of a team chaplain underscores the team’s belief that success is measured both on and off the field.

Chris will begin his chaplaincy with the team during preseason activities and continue throughout the summer, making himself available for one-on-one conversations, team devotionals, and any personal support needed by players and staff.
